Ask Yahoo answers Why is it that computers never have a “B” drive?
The answer is that many older computers had 2 floppy drives. One was A and the other B. There came a time when these older computers coesisted with computers with hard drives. Eventually the letter B was omitted as it was unecessary.
I actually used one of those old machines in the past. Unfortunately my parents sold it to some guy so he could melt it down and use the gold inside. What a mistake!
